这些发现与Tornwaldt囊肿是一致的，这是一种在鼻咽顶部和脊索残余之间出现的良性囊肿。由于患者出现了症状，他接受了切除囊肿的外科手术治疗。

患者为一名60岁的男性，患有鼻塞和鼻后滴漏的感觉，这种感觉在10年前已经出现，因在过去一个月内恶化，而到耳鼻咽喉科门诊就诊。他的喉咙里还有异物感。当他平躺时症状加重。

在体格检查中，未检测到鼻中隔偏曲或下鼻甲肥大。鼻咽镜检查显示鼻咽中线有一个光滑的粉红色囊状肿块，没有阻塞咽鼓管的开口（图像显示通过右鼻孔的视图）。头部计算机断层扫描显示鼻咽中线有一个2.5厘米×1.3厘米×1.4厘米的囊性肿瘤，没有向颅内延伸。



这些发现与Tornwaldt囊肿是一致的，这是一种在鼻咽顶部和脊索残余之间出现的良性囊肿。由于患者出现了症状，他接受了切除囊肿的外科手术治疗。

在手术后3个月的随访检查中，他的喉咙不再有异物感，鼻腔症状减轻，并且没有复发囊肿。
