pimavanserin作为MDD患者的辅助疗法，预期用于对选择性5-羟色胺再摄取抑制剂（SSRI）或5-羟色胺去甲肾上腺素再摄取抑制剂（SNRI）反应不足的患者。II期CLARITY研究是一项为期10周、随机、双盲、安慰剂对照、多中心、两阶段顺序平行比较的研究，评估了pimavanserin（34mg，每日一次）的有效性、安全性和耐受性。
