研究人员Anne La Flamme博士领导的新研究，显示氯氮平和利培酮有潜力成为有效治疗MS的药物。

MS是一种神经系统疾病，是由免疫细胞入侵脑部，造成炎症所引起的。它会导致视力受损和协调能力受损，并最终导致瘫痪。

虽然疾病治疗药物目前已经上市，但它们往往只对MS患者中某类亚群患者有效，所有这些药物的治疗靶标是针对传统的免疫途径。

新研究发现，氯氮平和利培酮的靶向途径非常不同与其他所有MS药物的作用途径，因而将可用于治疗目前药物无法治愈的MS。

发表在杂志PLOS ONE上的研究表明，利培酮和氯氮平可以通过减少导致本病的大脑炎症，显著改善MS。
