据外媒报道，美国国家航空航天局(NASA)表示，计划在7月底由“龙”飞船将一台可以打印人体组织的3D生物打印机送到国际空间站。此前有报道称，计划于7月21日，从卡纳维拉尔角发射搭载“龙”飞船的"猎鹰9号”运载火箭。美国国家航空航天局在其官网上指出，“龙”飞船将把一台Techshot公司研制的 BioFabrication Facility3D生物打印机送到国际空间站。将利用这台打印机在太空打印人体

2018年12月，“联盟MS-11”载人飞船将Invitro下属企业“3D生物打印解决方案”(3D Bioprinting Solutions)研发的3D生物打印机送到国际空间站。俄罗斯宇航员奥列格？科诺年科在太空进行了首次太空打印人类软骨组织和小鼠甲状腺组织试验。
