研究人员曾经报导过,使用Cas1-Cas2整合酶的活性,CRISPR-Cas微生物免疫系统会将入侵病毒的核苷酸内容存储起来,以获得适应性免疫力。如果能够利用这个系统,我们可能将任意信息写入基因组。

近日,来自哈佛大学医学院的研究人员成功利用CRISPR-Cas系统,将黑白照片和短片的像素值编码进入了活细菌的基因组。在这样做的同时。科学家们改善了这一信息存储系统的技术限制,并且优化了策略,使得限制最小化。

科研人员的这项工作表明,在活细胞群体的基因组中间,我们可以捕获并稳定储存数量可观的实际数据。
