骨形态发生蛋白（BMP）9是细胞因子转化生长因子β家族的一个成员，在肝脏中组成性产生。其全身水平可以作用于许多器官和组织，包括骨和内皮细胞，但它在健康和疾病状态下肝脏功能中的作用鲜为人知。近日，消化病领域权威杂志Gut上针对这一问题发表了一篇研究文章。

研究人员分析了原代培养肝细胞中BMP-9及其受体的水平。研究了BMP-9对肝星状细胞（HSC）和体外培养的肝细胞的直接作用，在小鼠急性和慢性肝损伤模型中评估了BMP-9的作用。

静止和活化的HSCs被确定为产生BMP-9的主要肝细胞类型。BMP-9刺激培养的肝细胞可以抑制增殖、上皮间质转化和保留重要的代谢酶如细胞色素P450的表达。肝脏部分切除或单次注射四氯化碳（CCl4）或脂多糖（LPS）引起的小鼠急性肝损伤可以引起肝脏BMP-9 mRNA表达短暂的下调。相应地，LPS刺激导致体外培养HSCs的BMP-9表达下调。肝脏部分切除术后给予BMP-9可以显著增加肝功能损害和扰乱肝脏的增殖反应。在BMP-9敲除的小鼠或腺病毒介导的过表达选择性BMP-9拮抗剂活化样激酶1-fc小鼠慢性肝脏损伤可以减少胶原沉积和随后的纤维化。
