这篇研究的目的是为了评估年轻成人罹患尖周损伤是否与心血管疾病风险的炎症血清标记物，特别是高敏的C反应蛋白(hsCRP)之间存在一定的联系。这项横向研究纳入了年龄在18-40岁的其它方面健康且仅具有牙髓来源(ALEOs)的根尖损伤并被诊断为无症状的根尖周炎以及对照个体。记录患者的社会人群特征、医疗史和典型的心血管危险因素，并计算青年人群动脉粥样硬化病理生理决定簇的评分。对病患实施口腔临床和放射线检查。收集血液样本检测脂质模式、糖化血红素、hsCRP， 免疫球蛋白G， 白细胞介素(IL)-6， IL-10， IL-12p70， 金属基质蛋白酶8， 可溶性血管细胞粘附分子-1，可溶性细胞间粘附分子-1和可溶性E-选择蛋白表达水平变化。采用Bivariate和multivariate分析校准口腔和典型心血管风险因素。结果显示，与对照组相比，ALEO患者的hsCRP水平明显增高(median = 2.54 vs 0.78)，而各组青年人群动脉粥样硬化病理生理决定簇的评分相似。同样，ALEO患者的IL-6、金属基质蛋白酶8和可溶性E-选择蛋白水平显著升高。hsCRP， IL-6和IL-12水平与可
