研究发现巨噬细胞在子宫内膜异位症引起的疼痛中发挥重要调控作用

华威大学沃里克医学院Greaves实验室与爱丁堡大学的合作者一起,发现巨噬细胞在刺激神经细胞生长和活动的过程中发挥作用,导致骨盆疼痛。

华威大学的研究人员发现巨噬细胞在子宫内膜异位症疼痛中扮演了重要的角色,可能为这种疾病带来新的治疗靶点。

华威大学沃里克医学院Greaves实验室与爱丁堡大学的合作者一起,发现巨噬细胞在刺激神经细胞生长和活动的过程中发挥作用,导致骨盆疼痛。

科学家们利用这些患病巨噬细胞的细胞培养物观察到胰岛素样生长因子-1(IGF-1)的产生增加。将其作用于培养中的神经细胞,可以激活并促使神经生长,表明巨噬细胞产生IGF-1在子宫内膜异位症引起的疼痛中起重要作用。

第一作者,沃里克医学院的艾琳格里夫斯博士说:"激素治疗方案依赖于抑制卵巢功能但不理想,因为它们会引起不必要的副作用,并抑制使用者怀孕。我们正在努力寻找非荷尔蒙的解决方案。"

全世界大约有1.76亿女性患有子宫内膜异位症,其中子宫内膜细胞以病变的形式在在盆腔中生长,可能导致严重的骨盆疼痛。目前,治疗选择仅限于手术切除病变或抑制卵巢激素的产生,因此迫切需要新的非激素治疗方案。
