研究数据显示，795 (97%)名患者表现出维生素D缺乏 (<30 ng/mL)。维生素D的水平与年龄、BMI呈正相关，与促甲状腺素水平和抗甲状腺过氧化物酶抗体滴度呈负相关。校正年龄、性别、BMI、术前离子钙、甲状旁腺激素后，研究者没有发现维生素D与甲状腺外侵犯、淋巴结转移、晚期癌症（Ⅲ或Ⅳ）和复发风险间的联系。同样也没有发现维生素D与复发性或难治性PTC的关系。

研究结果表明，维生素D的水平不会对PTC患者疾病的进展或是预后产生影响。
