研究认为，阴道分娩产妇在分娩后也可以接受单剂量的抗生素预防以降低术后感染风险

目前已明确的产妇感染危险因素包括剖宫产和手术阴道分娩，剖腹产后抗生素预防可显著降低产妇感染的发生率。近日研究人员考察了抗生素预防对阴道分娩后感染风险的影响。

孕36周以上，接受阴道分娩产妇在手术后接受单剂量阿莫西林-克拉维酸或安慰剂，研究的主要结果是在分娩后6周内确认或怀疑感染。

3427名妇女参与研究，其中1719名接受阿莫西林和克拉维酸治疗，1708名接受安慰剂治疗。与安慰剂组相比，阿莫西林和克拉维酸组确诊或疑似感染的妇女明显减少（1619例中有180例（11%） vs 1606例中有306例（19%），风险比0.58）。安慰剂组的一名妇女报告皮疹，阿莫西林和克拉维酸组的两名妇女报告其他过敏反应，其中一名报告了严重不良事件，均未被认为与治疗有关。
