最近,有研究人员在血浆中分析了372个癌症相关的miRNAs,分析的时间在治疗开始前(大约60%的患者)和治疗开始后及治疗期间(大约40%的患者),分析的对象包括前列腺癌患者以及年龄相匹配的对照。研究发现,在一个独立的群体中,miRNAs - miR-4289, miR-326, miR-152-3p 和miR-98-5p的水平提高,且miRNA足够区分前列腺癌患者和对照(AUC=0.88)。另外,对已经公布的来源与临床样本的miRNA转录组数据阐释了miR-152-3p的表达在肿瘤中与临近的非恶性肿瘤组织相比低。miR-152-3p过表达能够增加前列腺癌细胞的增殖和迁移,表明了该miRNA在前列腺癌发病过程中具有作用。

最后,研究人员指出,4个miRNA,包括了miR-152-3p,很有可能以基因为靶标在前列腺癌发病过程中具有重要作用,且它们也具有改善早期前列腺癌诊断的潜力。
