较高的室内颗粒物（PM）浓度与哮喘发病率增加有关。饮食中摄入的脂肪酸也与哮喘结局有关，可能会影响这种关系。近日，呼吸内科以及重症医学领域权威杂志Am J Resp Crit Care上发表了一篇研究文章，研究人员旨在确定（1）ω-3和ω-6脂肪酸摄入量与小儿哮喘发病率之间的关系，以及（2）脂肪酸摄入量与室内、PM相关哮喘症状、沙丁胺醇使用和全身炎症之间的关系。

该研究分析纳入了哮喘饮食研究中的135名哮喘儿童。在基线、3个月和6个月，收集数据，这些数据包括：PM2.5和PM10的一周平均家庭室内浓度、ω-3和ω-6脂肪酸饮食摄入量、每日症状和外周血白细胞。在基线评估哮喘严重程度和肺功能。针对已知混杂因素调整的多变量回归模型用于确定每种脂肪酸与感兴趣结局之间的关联，以及纵向分析中的相互作用项（脂肪酸xPM）。

较高的ω-6摄入量与哮喘严重程度增加的几率增加（p=0.02）和较低的FEV1/FVC比值（p=0.01）相关。较高的ω-3摄入量与室内PM2.5对症状的影响减少有关（p<0.01），而ω-6摄入量增加与室内PM2.5对症状和循环中性粒细胞百分比的放大效应相关（p<0.01）。

由此可见，摄入ω-3和ω-6与小儿哮喘发病有关，可能会改变对室内PM的哮喘反应。
