有创性牙科治疗（IDTs）与心肌梗塞（MI）和缺血性卒中（IS）的短期风险之间的关联仍存在争议。来自口腔的细菌传播和与IDT相关的全身性炎症可以诱导急性血管功能障碍状态。本研究旨在通过使用仅案例研究设计来分析来自大型台湾队列的数据来研究IDT与MI和IS的关系。

通过案例交叉和自我控制案例系列设计进行全国范围的人口研究，以分析台湾国家医疗保健索赔数据库。使用条件logistic回归模型和条件Poisson回归模型来估计MI / IS的风险。此外，我们使用烧伤患者作为阴性对照来探索残留混杂的潜在影响。

共有123,819名MI患者和327,179名IS患者进行病例交叉设计，117,655名MI患者和298,757名IS患者纳入自控案例系列设计。两项研究设计的结果显示，在存在重度风险而没有其他合并症的患者的第一周内，IDT后首个24周内MI的风险与整体没有显著差异或接近统一（3天和7天的优势比[95％置信区间]分别为3.31 [1.08-1.58]和1.15 [1.01-1.31]）。我们还观察到IDT与IS之间没有关联，或风险比接近统一。

总之，该研究将诶过表明，IDTs似乎与台湾人群中MI和IS的短暂风险无关，两个案例研究设计都得出了一致的结论。但是，我们不能排除牙齿感染和疾病可能导致MI和IS的长期风险。
