在这里，本研究报告首次报道了具有超大孔径（10-30nm）的新型单分散生物活性玻璃纳米团簇（BGNCs），可很好地将miRNA输送到治疗区加速临界尺寸骨缺损的骨再生。通过使用支化聚乙烯亚胺作为结构导向剂和催化剂来制造具有不同尺寸（100-500nm）的BGNCs。

检测结果显示，BGNCs表现出优异的磷灰石形成能力和较高的生物相容性。重要的是，BGNCs表现出比常规BGNs高近19倍的miRNA载量。此外，BGNCs-miRNA纳米复合物表现出明显的抗解离作用，提高细胞摄取和miRNA转染效率，超过BGNs和市售的Lipofectamine 3000的效果。BGNCs-介导的miRNA递送明显改善了骨髓基质干细胞的成骨分化，并且有效地增强体内成骨。

综上所述，该研究结果表明，BGNCs可以是用于各种基因治疗的高效非病毒载体。这项研究可能会为研发高度基因激活的生物活性纳米材料提供一种新的策略，可同时促进组织再生和治疗疾病。
