赖氨酸去甲基化酶6A（KDM6A）作为与骨骼发育不良和成骨分化相关的候选基因，可能影响动物的生长性状。在先前的研究中，KDM6A基因内的一个16bp内含子插入/缺失（NW_017189516.1：g.138,431_138,446delAATGTATAGCTTAAAA）显著影响KDM6A基因的表达。本研究旨在探究这个16bp插入与陕西白绒山羊（SWCG）生长相关性状之间的关联。

结果关联分析显示，16bp indel与SWCG人群中的生长性状强度（身高、胸深、髋部高度、体长和胸围）有关（n = 1953，P <0.05）。插入/插入（II）基因型个体（n = 1502）具有最佳的生长性状，通过比较插入/缺失（ID）（n = 410）和缺失/缺失（DD）基因型（n = 41）。特别是，II基因型个体的体重明显高于ID和DD基因型（P <0.01）。此外，这种插入物对性状的明显影响可能是由MEF2结合位点的变化引起的。

总之，这些发现暗示KDM6A基因中的16bp缺失突变与生长相关性状显著相关，可以指定为山羊育种中生长性状的有效分子标记。
