最近,有研究人员展示了单胺氧化酶A(MAOA),一种能够降解单胺类神经递质和饮食胺的线粒体酶,在基质细胞中能够提高活性氧类的产生,激发包括IL-6在内的炎症响应,并促进体内和体外的致瘤过程。同时,MAOA能够通过直接Twist1结合到IL-6启动子保守E-box元件增强IL-6的转录。在基质纤维细胞中,MAOA能够通过旁分泌IL-6/STAT3信号促进肿瘤细胞生长。组织芯片分析阐释了在临床标本中,基质MAOA诱导的Twist1/IL-6/STAT3途径中的各对蛋白之间存在共表达相关性。基质MAOA的下游STAT3同样能够促进细胞干细胞化合转录激活PC细胞中癌症干细胞标记CD44的表达。另外,MAOA抑制剂处理能够以基质特异性靶向方式有效的抑制小鼠前列腺肿瘤的生长。

最后,研究人员指出,他们的研究鉴定了PC病理过程中MAOA对基质激活的贡献,并为在基质细胞中靶向MAOA来治疗PC提供了合理的依据。
