子宫颈癌已成为威胁世界女性健康的第四大恶性肿瘤。世界卫生组织（ＷＨＯ）估计全球子宫颈癌新发病例数为５２．８万，死亡人数为２６．６万，其中８５％的病例发生在中低收入国家。我国近年来子宫颈癌发病率呈上升趋势，子宫颈癌的防治作为公共卫生问题已引起中国政府的高度重视和关注。国家卫生计生委妇幼健康服务司委托中华预防医学会妇女保健分会组织制定了《子宫颈癌综合防控指南》。该《指南》目前为国内权威的子宫颈癌防控指南，其参考了世界卫生组织和国内外最新循证医学研究证据，对于我国子宫颈癌的一、二、三级预防以及政策制定和项目管理方面具有重要的现实指导意义，将会极大地推动我国子宫颈癌综合防控的进程，降低我国子宫颈癌发病率。

子宫颈癌是世界上最常见的妇科恶性肿瘤之一，其术前准确分期对确定正确的治疗方法至关重要。目前MRI已被证实是对子宫颈癌进行分期的最准确的非侵入性方式，有助于风险分层和决定治疗方案。同时，MRI及其功能性成像也越来越多地被用于预测评估宫颈癌疗效。通过开展国家公益性行业科研专项研究，对1 500余例病例的分析结果也显示MRI及其功能性成像在宫颈癌的术前诊断、分期、预测、评估放化疗疗效中发挥重要作用。
