根据本周《自然 - 通讯》发表的一篇论文 Genome-wide association study in 176,678 Europeans reveals genetic loci for tanning response to sun exposure,一个人暴露在阳光下后皮肤会晒黑还是晒伤,至少在一定程度上取决于特定基因位点的变异。这一全基因组关联研究(GWAS)在过去的研究基础上,鉴定出了可能与欧洲血统种群的晒黑反应相关的额外基因位点。

为了更好地理解一个人的遗传组成如何决定其对日晒的反应,英国伦敦国王学院的 Mario Falchi 及同事分析了一批被试的遗传变异,部分被试自我报告称从未晒黑或只是偶尔晒黑和晒伤 (46,768),另一部分称会晒黑而不会晒伤(74,528)。之后,研究人员针对 55,382 名个体做了重复研究,结果在之前未被与晒黑反应关联起来的 10 个遗传位点发现了遗传变异。研究人员进一步发现,与晒黑能力较低相关的AGR3/AHR 位点的部分变异可能也会增加皮肤癌风险。

作者指出,以上发现基于有关晒黑和皮肤癌的自我报告(即问卷回答),可能存在报告偏差,因此还需要开展进一步的研究来证实此次鉴定出来的遗传变异在晒黑和皮肤癌中可能发挥的作用。
