间充质干细胞（MSC）是能够分化成脂肪细胞，软骨细胞或骨细胞的多能细胞。MSC分泌一系列细胞因子并在其表面表达LIFRβ（白血病抑制因子受体）链。编码LIFRβ的基因突变导致骨代谢改变的综合征。 LIFRβ是心肌营养素样细胞因子（CLCF1）的信号传导受体链之一，CLCF1是已知调节B和骨髓细胞功能的神经营养因子。

本研究中，我们研究了其在体外诱导分化为骨细胞的MSC的作用。我们的结果表明，CLCF1结合小鼠MSC，触发STAT1和3磷酸化，抑制参与控制成骨的主基因的上调，并显著防止成骨细胞的产生和矿化。

总之，该结果表明CLCF1可以作为治疗干预的靶标，例如细胞因子捕获剂或阻断骨疾病（例如骨质疏松症）中的mAb。
