126颗离体牙样本通过micro-CT检测验证ERR窝洞的存在与否。随后,将样本分为对照组:85颗不存在ERR窝洞的牙齿;以及实验组:41颗存在1个或多个ERR窝洞的牙齿。天然ERR窝洞的大小变化范围为2.46 mm3至3.11 mm3,分别相当于直径为1.67 mm和1.81 mm的窝洞。将牙齿至于干燥的人下颌骨中,以3种不同的体素大小方案进行扫描:0.25 mm, 0.20 mm和0.166 mm。

结果显示,3种评估方案的准确性按照递减的顺序排列分别为:体素大小0.20 mm的为 60.3%,体素大小0.166 mm的为 56.7%和体素大小0.25 mm的为 46.7%;这比之前观察人造ERR窝洞所获得的值明显偏小。3组CBCT方案之间没有显著性差异(P > .05),接受者操作特征曲线显示各组间存在小的差异。

结论:这些结果表明,CBCT对于天然ERR的敏感性和特异性比对之前研究的人造ERR窝洞低。正如之前人造ERR研究阐明的那样,天然ERR使用CBCT既不容易被观察到又不会被准确定位。
