作者注意到心理健康问题对退休储蓄有很大的负面影响。心理困扰与降低持有退休账户的可能性有关，并将退休储蓄作为金融资产的比例分别降低24%和67%。

作者写道："这些影响的规模凸显了雇主管理政策和政府监管这些账户的重要性，以确保家庭有足够的退休储蓄。"
