Virology：科学家们改造出水泡性口炎嵌入病毒可以靶向消除脑肿瘤

水泡性口炎病毒（VSV）具有潜在的靶向杀死肿瘤细胞的能力，但因其具有亲神经的糖蛋白对正常脑细胞具有威胁。近日，来自美国的科学家们将基孔肯雅热病毒的多聚蛋白E3-E2-6K-E1基因嵌入至VSV基因组中，替换掉VSV糖蛋白基因，发现该改造后的病毒具有靶向消灭脑肿瘤细胞的能力。

水泡性口炎病毒（VSV）具有潜在的靶向杀死肿瘤细胞的能力，但因其具有亲神经的糖蛋白对正常脑细胞具有威胁。近日，来自美国的科学家们将基孔肯雅热病毒的多聚蛋白E3-E2-6K-E1基因嵌入至VSV基因组中，替换掉VSV糖蛋白基因，发现该改造后的病毒具有靶向消灭脑肿瘤细胞的能力。目前，该研究成果已发表至《Virology》杂志，题为“Chikungunya-vesicular stomatitis chimericvirus targets and eliminates brain tumors”。

研究人员使用改造后的VSV感染患有脑肿瘤小鼠，发现感染后的小鼠存活率上升。更为有趣的是，研究人员发现静脉注射的VSV只感染癌细胞，不感染正常的细胞。



该研究成果证实了改造后VSV能够靶向消灭脑肿瘤细胞，为抗肿瘤新药的开发提供了一条新的研发方向。
