马里兰大学医学中心的研究表明,青春期女孩吃高饱和脂肪餐和少进食不饱和脂肪餐会明显增加乳房组织的密度,会含有更多的纤维和结缔组织,这是乳腺癌的高危风险因素。研究发表在Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention饱和脂肪在红肉如牛肉、羊肉和猪肉等肉制品和奶制品中奶酪、黄油、汉堡、薯条等垃圾食品中含量丰富,而坚果、橄榄油、鳄梨中含有丰富的单不饱和脂肪。

饱和脂肪在红肉如牛肉、羊肉和猪肉等肉制品和奶制品中奶酪、黄油、汉堡、薯条等垃圾食品中含量丰富,而坚果、橄榄油、鳄梨中含有丰富的单不饱和脂肪。

研究人员从DISC收集了相关数据,对663名(301名为女孩)年龄范围为8-10岁的儿童的膳食信息进行了调查。

在后续研究中,研究人员使用MRI测量177名年龄范围为25-29岁的参与者乳房密度。通过分析后研究人员证实,摄入较多的饱和脂肪和减少单不饱和脂肪的摄入量会增加青少年的乳房体积和组织密度,从而增加他们未来患乳腺癌的风险。研究人员发现,摄入最多饱和脂肪的青少年平均乳腺密度(DBV)在青春期平均为21.5%,而摄入饱和脂肪最低的青少年平均乳腺密度为16.4%。

马里兰大学医学院公共卫生学院的Seungyoun Jung博士指出,这表明青春期年轻人进食种类对他们的乳房密度有长期影响。这是第一个全面探究青少年脂肪摄入量对乳腺密度影响的前瞻性研究。

尽管研究结果显示二者之间有关但是不因果关系,研究人员指出他们仍需更进一步的研究,进而进行早期干预和预防。通过青春期调整青少年的进食种类可降低他们的乳腺密度并减低他们今后患乳腺癌和慢性疾病如肥胖、糖尿病和心血管疾病的风险。
