慢性疲劳综合症（CFS）是一种身体出现慢性疲劳症状的病症，具体定义是长期间（连续6个月以上）原因不明的强度疲劳感觉或身体不适。其临床症状多种多样，且易误诊，因此辨识此病并不容易。

关于该疾病的治疗，目前有认知行为疗法(CBT)和多学科康复治疗(MRT)。两种疗法孰优孰劣，Vos-Vromans DC等研究者就该疾病疗效问题进行了多中心、随机对照试验。研究者将荷兰四个康复中心的122名CFS患者随机分为MRT和CBT组，比较治疗后26周和52周两种治疗方案在改善疲劳以及生活质量上的差异。

研究期间研究者通过Checklist Individual Strength中对研究对象的疲劳情况进行评估，根据Short-Form 36评价患者健康相关的生活质量。研究对象分别在治疗前、治疗后26周以及52周进行上述量表的情况评估。

最终有114名研究对象完成了治疗后26周的评估项目，以及112名完成了治疗后52周的评估项目。研究结果显示，治疗后52周，在减少患者疲劳这一块，MRT疗法明显优于CBT。数据分析表明，在疲劳这方面治疗后26周MRT与CBT两组差异-3.02 [95%CI -8.07 to 2.03; P = 0.24]；治疗后52周两组差异-5.69 (95% CI -10.62 to -0.76; P = 0.02)。随着治疗时间的推移，两组研究对象的生活质量均得到明显改善，两组间比较没有发现明显的统计学差异。

因此研究者认为，对慢性疲劳综合症（CFS）患者，多学科康复治疗(MRT)有更好的疗效，可显著改善患者长期疲劳情况或减缓其恶化。同时基于该治疗的临床有效性，多学科康复治疗(MRT)可以推荐给类似患者，但还需其他中心的重复研究结果，以及关于该研究成本效应的研究，才能广泛被应用临床。
