主要结果

1986-2011年期间，每隔4年研究人员收集一次参与人员的体重数据并监测其变化。

结果

结果表明，通过调整其他与体重有关的生活方式如摄食种类、吸烟程度、锻炼活动等因素后，研究人员发现，民众摄入黄酮类食物(包括黄酮醇、黄酮、黄烷酮类,黄烷-3醇、花青素和类黄酮聚合物)含量与民众的体重呈负相关的关系。二者之间关联如下：花青素(−0.23，95%CI：−0.30至−0.15磅/天/10毫克)、类黄酮聚合物(−0.18，95%CI：−0.28至−0.08磅/天/138毫克)、黄酮醇(−0.16，95%CI：−0.26至0.06磅/天/7毫克)。通过调整膳食纤维的摄入量等因素后，花青素、类黄酮聚合物等黄酮类食物的摄入与民众的体重依旧呈明显的负相关关系。

结论

研究结果表明，民众摄入黄酮类食物(包括黄酮醇、黄酮、黄烷酮类,黄烷-3醇、花青素和类黄酮聚合物)等越多，则中年时期体重越不易增长，且有助于避免肥胖的出现。
