唐氏综合症(DS)是由21号染色体三体形成的一种遗传疾病，有学者提出它与类风湿关节炎(RA)自身抗体之间的关系，但尚未得到明确证实。本研究的目的是确定成人DS患者是否比一般人群具有更高水平的抗环瓜氨酸肽(anti- loop citrullinated peptide, anti-CCP)抗体和/或类风湿因子(类风湿因子，RF)。

结果显示，68例DS患者中，没有一位有抗ccp抗体，而在204名年龄和性别匹配的对照组中，只有一位有这些自身抗体。然而，DS患者出现的RF阳性病例数高于对照组（分别为11.7％至3.2％; Fisher精确检验，p = .027）。在不增加抗CCP抗体的情况下，DS组中RF阳性病例数量较高可能通常表示免疫紊乱而不是这些患者中的RA。

本研究支持这样的观点，即风湿关节炎(RA)在DS患者中的发生率不高于一般人群。
