澳大利亚研究人员在新一期美国《新英格兰医学杂志》上报告，他们开发的一种新疗法可将糖尿病人的肾衰竭发病风险降低三分之一。

澳大利亚研究人员在新一期美国《新英格兰医学杂志》上报告，他们开发的一种新疗法可将糖尿病人的肾衰竭发病风险降低三分之一。

据报告，这种疗法还可让糖尿病人的心脏衰竭发病率降低超过30%，其他主要心血管疾病的发病风险降低约20%。这有望使全球数亿糖尿病患者受益。

研究人员从30多个国家和地区招募了4401名糖尿病患者参加临床试验。其中一半的志愿者在现有治疗方案基础上加服了药物卡格列净，而另外一半对照组患者加服的是安慰剂。

药物卡格列净最初研发用于降低糖尿病患者的血糖水平。但这一最新研究结果显示，服用卡格列净后，糖尿病人患上肾功能衰竭或因肾功能衰竭死亡的风险降低了约30%。此外，出现心脏衰竭等心血管疾病的风险也显著降低。研究显示，服用这一药物也没有增加出现主要副作用的风险。

糖尿病是一种慢性病，主要并发症包括肾衰竭、心脏病和中风等。研究报告主要作者、澳大利亚乔治全球健康研究院的弗拉多·佩尔科维奇教授在新闻公报中说，这一研究是“一项重大医学突破”，因为“糖尿病人及肾病患者面临肾衰竭、心脏病、中风及死亡的风险很高，而这种有效的疗法只需要每天服用一次药，就可以有效降低这种风险”。
