2型糖尿病(T2DM)和良性前列腺增生(BPH)是两种最常见的老龄化恶性疾病,且具有内分泌和代谢疾病的特征。

最近,有研究人员在临床研究中展示了单纯的BPH患者和具有T2DM疾病的BPH患者之间,空腹血糖(FBG)、空腹胰岛素(FINS)、胰岛素抵抗指数(HOMA-IR)和前列腺体积(PV)存在显著的差异。进一步的分析表明,在具有T2DM疾病的BPH患者中,HOMA-IR与PV呈现正相关关系。体外试验结果表明高糖(HG)促进EMT过程,且该过程在人类前列腺增生细胞(BPH-1)和前列腺癌细胞(PC-3)中是糖依赖型的,与胰岛素共培养时可促进该病理过程。同时,胰岛素诱导的EMT加速依赖于MEK/ERK信号途径的激活。

最后,研究人员之粗,胰岛素和其同源体在具有T2DM疾病的BPH患者的临床抗高血糖药治疗中特别注意。
