ATVB:年龄、更年期和肥胖对与血管健康相关氧化脂质的影响

绝经前女性中较高的12-脂氧合酶 oxylipin血浆浓度与较低的动脉僵硬度可能是重要的贡献心血管疾病中性别差异的因素。

血管疾病是人群死亡率和发病率的主要原因,它表现出显著的性别差异,因为女性罹患心血管疾病的时间比男性晚。老年妇女丧失心脏保护功能可能是由于绝经后动脉僵硬度增加所致。多不饱和脂肪酸的游离脂肪酸代谢产物称为氧化脂质,目前已知会影响血管功能,并可能参与了多不饱和脂肪酸的血管保护作用。

近日,心血管领域权威杂志Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology上发表了一篇研究文章,这项研究旨在比较年轻女性(20-55岁)、老年女性(55岁以上)和老年男性(55岁以上)血浆氧化脂质谱,并确定氧化脂质与心血管疾病危险因素之间的关联,例如肥胖和动脉僵硬。

研究人员通过高效液相色谱-串联质谱法对来自完整临床试验存档的血浆样品中氧化脂质进行了定量。研究人员确定了3种主要的12-脂氧合酶产物,即12-羟基二十碳四烯酸、12-羟基二十碳五烯酸和14-羟基二十二碳六烯酸,与老年女性和男性相比,年轻女性血浆中这些氧化脂质含量较高。这些氧化脂质也随着肥胖而降低,并且表现出与肱踝脉搏波速度所评估的动脉僵硬度之间存在强烈的负相关性。根据多元线性回归模型,即使校正了体重指数类别并结合了年龄、更年期状态或雌二醇水平,这些关联仍然存在。通过线性判别分析,这3种氧化脂质组合可有效区分参与者。

由此可见,绝经前女性中较高的12-脂氧合酶 oxylipin血浆浓度与较低的动脉僵硬度可能是重要的贡献心血管疾病中性别差异的因素。
