PLoS One:助听器使用者连续听语音时的脑电图和瞳孔放大探索性研究

听力损失的个体在日常生活场景中分配认知资源来理解嘈杂的语音。这样的场景可能是他们接触到正在进行的语音且需要在相当长的时间内维持他们的注意力,这就需要听力努力。目前,已经有两种成熟的生理学方法可以敏感地鉴定听力努力时的相关变化,即瞳孔测量和脑电图(EEG)。然而,这些测量方法主要用于瞬间、诱发或偶发的努力。

最近,有研究人员使用不同信噪比(SNR)的连续语音,调查了持续听力努力在瞳孔测量和EEG中的表现。研究有8名助听器使用者参与了这项探索性研究,并进行了连续的噪声中语音任务。语音材料由30秒的连续语音流组成,在4个说话人背景噪声(+180°方位角)的情况下,用扬声器向受试者的左右两侧(±30°方位角)呈现。受试者在2种不同的SNR(0分贝和-5分贝,目标和竞争说话者之间的差异)条件下,随机参与右边或左边的语音。研究人员使用瞳孔测量和脑电图客观地探讨了SNR对听力努力的影响。研究结果发现,在更努力的条情况下,顶叶的平均瞳孔扩张较大,EEG α功率下降。

最后,研究人员指出,在连续说话过程中,这2种测量方法对SNR的变化都很敏感。
