基于网络的调查，研究人员向22名执业病理学家提供54个NSCLC病例的核心图像进行诊断，最初仅作为H＆E，然后为H＆E加粘蛋白和4个IHC染色。每个病例均根据公布的2004,2011和2015年NSCLC分类进行诊断。针对231名病理学家对计算科恩kappa作为IPDA的衡量标准。

结果显示，22名病理学家通过使用4种已发表的分类诊断出54例NSCLC病例。H＆E /粘蛋白/ IHC诊断的IPDA明显高于H＆E诊断。H＆E /粘蛋白/ IHC诊断的IPDA在2015年分类中最高。在将所述诊断分解为小标题或二分类后，IPDA会更高。2015年世界卫生组织分类的H＆E /粘蛋白/ IHC诊断的IPDA对于社区和学术病理学家来说是相似的，并且当病理学家具有肺病理学专业知识，具有超过6年的实践经验或每年诊断超过100个新的肺癌时。

研究表明，较高的IPDA与粘蛋白和IHC染色的使用，2015年NSCLC分类，病理学家的肺病理学专业知识，实践持续时间和肺癌病例的频率有关。
