NEJM:mRNA疫苗谁更强——mRNA-1273疫苗效果优于BNT162b2疫苗

接种mRNA-1273或BNT162b2疫苗均可以获得较好的保护效果,其中mRNA-1273疫苗的效果更佳,对于α和δ变异株,mRNA-1273也表现出更好的保护效果

在先前的临床试验中,新冠肺炎mRNA疫苗可有效预防症状性2019冠状病毒病(Covid-19),其中BNT162b2的有效性为95%,mRNA-1273的有效性为94%,但尚缺少这2个疫苗直接比较的数据。近日研究人员比较了BNT162b2和mRNA-1273在不同人群中的有效性差异。

研究人员利用美国退伍军人电子健康记录开展研究,参与研究的退伍军人在2021年1月4日至5月14日期间接受了第一剂量的BNT162b2或mRNA-1273疫苗接种,这一时期为SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.7(α)变体流行季,为评估B.1.617.2(delta)变异的影响,研究人员又考察了2021年7月1日至9月20日期间接种疫苗的退伍军人数据。记录参与者在疫苗接种后出现严重急性呼吸系统综合征冠状病毒2(SARS-CoV-2)感染、有症状的Covid-19、因Covid-19住院、因Covid-19进入重症监护病房(ICU)以及因Covid-19死亡数据。

每个疫苗均包括219842参与者。在α变异株流行的24周随访期内,BNT162b2组记录的感染风险为每1000人5.75次,mRNA-1273组为每1000人4.52次。与mRNA-1273相比,BNT162b2组每1000人的额外感染事件数为1.23起,额外有症状Covid-19感染事件为0.44起,额外因Covid-19住院治疗事件数为0.55起,额外ICU治疗的Covid-19事件数为0.10起,额外Covid-19死亡事件0.02 起。在delta变异株流行的12周随访期间,与mRNA-1273相比,BNT162b2组每1000人额外发生6.54次感染事件。
