据了解,这是有史以来人类在实验室第一个功能齐全的心脏模型,直径约1毫米,能跳动,血管、心室、心房样样齐全,与老鼠胎儿心脏类似,由干细胞技术完成,让人感到惊奇不已。

成功培育出心脏有什么意义?

首先,心脏器官模型的成功培育,可以让生物学家们在适当的情况下研究心脏组织与细胞,促使人类心脏医学的发展进步。

其次,对于先天性心脏病等疾病,可以提供一种新的治疗方法。

还有,可以为疾病模拟、心脏药物测试以及心脏治疗方法测试提供一个伦理平台。

带你走进干细胞的神秘世界

如果把人体比喻成一座大厦,那么细胞就是大厦的砖瓦,而干细胞则是生产砖瓦的部门机构。干细胞英文为“stem”,即树干的意思,有了树干,才会有树杈、叶子、花朵。

干细胞与机体其他细胞不同,它有着与众不同的几个特质,分别为:高度增殖、自我更新、多向分化。也正因为有这些能力,科学家看到了干细胞在细胞移植治、组织再生、功能重建、病损细胞与器官修复、人造器官等方面的潜力与曙光。

干细胞技术目前正处于探索阶段,但研究项目已硕果累累,比如科学家已通过干细胞技术培育创造出许多具备一定功能的迷你小器官,如肾脏、肝脏、肺部、血管、胰腺等。而干细胞移植目前也已广泛应用于多种临床疾病的治疗,并显示出巨大的应用价值。还有,各种关于干细胞技术的研究喜获佳绩,如干细胞技术恢复视力、干细胞技术与抗衰老、造血干细胞抑制肿瘤、干细胞技术与尿路重建修复等等。

值得强调的是,干细胞技术的发展和突破,还给成千上万器官功能丧失的患者带来了希望。目前,我国乃至全球器官移植供需矛盾极为突出,据统计,全世界约有150万名尿毒症患者,但每年能做上肾移植手术的,只有3000例;另外,全球还有400万名白血病患者等待着做骨髓移植。因此,研究干细胞技术,很有必要!
