Nat Commun:老年人补充维生素D会如何影响肠道微生物组?

一些研究表明,肠道微生物群改变了肠道维生素D代谢(VDM),益生菌补充剂可以影响循环维生素D水平。这些发现具有重大的临床利益,因为多个大型流行病学研究表明,血清维生素D水平低的人会增加多种不良健康结果的风险,包括骨质疏松症,肥胖,炎症性肠病,偶然的糖尿病血管疾病,癌症和自身免疫性疾病。

虽然一些研究报告了低25-羟基维生素D(25(OH)D:25-羟基维生素D3和25-羟基维生素D2的总和)水平与疾病之间的关联,但其他的研究,如以前在MrOS研究中进行的研究显示,其与心血管疾病或偶发糖尿病等疾病没有显著关联。

最近一项对超过25,000名成年人进行的补充维生素D的大型随机对照试验表明,补充维生素D对预防心血管事件或癌症没有好处。

维生素D受体在胃肠道中高度表达,它在胃肠道中进行基因表达的转导。目前对肠道微生物组和维生素D之间的相互作用理解有限。最近,研究人员在Nature Communications杂志发文,其对567名老年男性进行横断面分析,利用LC-MSMS量化血清维生素D代谢物,并从16S核糖体RNA基因测序数据中定义粪便亚操作分类单元。

Faith的系统发育多样性和非冗余协变量分析显示,血清1,25(OH)2D水平可以解释α-多样性中5%的变异。在使用未加权UniFrac的β多样性分析中,1,25(OH)2D是评估的最强因素,解释了2%的变异。随机森林分析确定了12个类群,其中11个在Firmicutes门中,其中8个类群与1,25(OH)2D和/或激素-激素前体[1,25(OH)2D/25(OH)D]"活化比 "正相关。

男性的1,25(OH)2D水平较高,活化比也较高,但25(OH)D本身并不高,更有可能拥有与肠道微生物健康状况较好相关的丁酸盐生产菌。
