双相情感障碍(BD)和重度抑郁症(MDD)是两种常见的严重精神疾病，正确的诊断和治疗方案至关重要。但两者的症状有很多相似之处，且目前主要依靠临床病史和症状，误诊率较高，因此，BD和MDD的鉴别研究十分

双相情感障碍(BD)和重度抑郁症(MDD)是两种常见的严重精神疾病，正确的诊断和治疗方案至关重要。但两者的症状有很多相似之处，且目前主要依靠临床病史和症状，误诊率较高，因此，BD和MDD的鉴别研究十分重要。

最近发现，肠道微生物群的改变与这两种情绪障碍有关，MDD和BD的共同和差异的微生物特征不清楚。本实验使用16SrRNA测序方法，比较165名MDD患者，217名BD患者和217名健康对照者(HCs)的微生物组成。

结果发现，三组样本的微生物组成存在差异。与HCs相比，MDD患者的拟杆菌科(Bacteroidaceae)的分类单元(operational taxonomic units， OTUs)发生改变，BD患者的Lachnospiraceae、Prevotellaceae、Ruminococcaceae等科的共变OTUs紊乱。此外，确定了26个差异OTUs可以区分MDD，BD和HCs人群，26个微生物标志物中有4个与MDD或BD的疾病严重程度相关。

在MDD中确定了与BD和HCs不同的肠道微生物组成，并提供了一个新的肠道微生物组特征的标记板，用于鉴别MDD和BD。
