研究人员对80只单侧输尿管梗阻小鼠的肾组织块进行EDSI-MS分析,并与sham对照组进行了比较。研究人员利用LASSO方法建立了肾损伤的预测模型。研究发现,单侧输尿管梗阻组中,脂质和小分子代谢物发生了明显的改变,并且甘油磷脂占据主要位置。这些改变与脂质代谢相关基因表达的变化相关,且大多数基因表达量减少。然而,PG(22:6/22:6)表达水平的的快速上调是迄今为止仍旧未知的在UUO中观察到的代谢转变特性。研究人员通过使用LASSO和SAM,鉴定了一系列能够准确预测UUO诱导肾损伤的代谢物,这些代谢物可以在UUO后12个小时检测到,优于明显的组织学变化。

最后,研究人员指出,DESI-MS能够作为鉴定肾损伤的一个有力的辅助工具,同时也阐释了脂质相关膜早期和广泛的变化。
