216例未明原发癌样本中,DNA甲基化分析预测了188例(87%)。基于EPICUP诊断患者,接受肿瘤类型特异性治疗后,总生存率改善(与经验性治疗患者相比,HR 3.24, p=0.0051 [95% CI 1.42–7.38]; log-rank p=0.0029)。

结果表明,发展DNA甲基化为基础的检测技术可以改善未明原发癌的诊断,指导更精确的治疗,以得到更好的结果。通过表观遗传学测试,能对未明原发癌进行更精确的指导。
