研究人员在皇家社会开放科学杂志发表的“原则性证明”研究报告中描述了这种脑电脑界面(BCI)如何在卒中损伤的手中产生36%的运动功能改善。

BCI测量头皮表面的脑电信号。每次被摄体想象执行特定的运动功能,例如掌握一个物体时,BCI将采取这些电信号并将其传输到计算机。然后,先进的数学算法解释大脑信号,从而通过机器人操纵器提供感官反馈。

阿德莱德大学博士毕业后,Sam Darvishi博士说:“大多数笔画中,向肌肉发出运动指令的大脑区域部分损坏,从而降低受影响部位的运动功能。”

“在运动学习的早期阶段(比如当我们是小孩时),当大脑命令目标肌肉,然后通过观察和感觉每个身体运动获得反馈时,我们的大脑和身体学习如何和谐地工作。需要重新训练失去的技能。

已经提出BCI作为卒中患者的替代治疗方法,具有一定程度的前景,但迄今为止并未特别有效。

研究人员设计了一个特定的BCI来满足这些要求。在一例患者中,单次病例研究中,手术运动功能的改善达到36%,仅需10次,每次30分钟。

Darvishi博士说:“这只是一个病人,所以我们不能将结果推广到一个中风的人身上。

“然而,对于大型卒中患者的研究来说,这肯定显示出足够的希望,看看这可能是卒中康复的可行治疗方法。
