阻断IL-12和IL-23可以有效的缓解白细胞粘附缺陷1型症状

白细胞粘附1型缺陷(LAD-1)的患者往往遭受着重度牙周炎以及严重的、难以愈合的骶骨损伤。研究人员早先发现，在人体和小鼠模型中，该炎症反应主要是由白细胞介素23和白细胞介素17主导的。在小鼠模型中，阻断该通路可以有效的缓解免疫病理损伤。


研究人员对患者进行了一种名为ustekinumab的抗体疗法，该抗体可以与白细胞介素23和白细胞介素12的P40亚基结合，阻断细胞因子的活性，直接或间接阻断了白细胞介素23和白细胞介素17主导的免疫炎症过程。在为期1年的治疗过程中，参与试验的患者炎症病变得到缓解而且并没有造成严重的二次感染或副作用。阻断IL-12和IL-23可以有效的缓解白细胞粘附1型缺陷症状。
