运动耐受力-气短乏力和正常运动量的劳累-是HFPEF的主要症状,部分是由于非心脏因素,输送到主动骨骼肌的氧气量减少造成的。HFPEF是最近公认的疾病,反映了心脏泵的左心室每次如何跳动。它主要发生在年龄较大的女性中,是心脏衰竭的主要形式,以及最迅速的增加了心血管疾病。

新的证据表明,膳食无机硝酸盐补充对控制血压,血管健康,运动能力和氧代谢有益。

维克森林浸信会的研究人员在一项双盲,随机安全研究中招募了19人,以确定每日单次剂量并且多日饮用果汁是否可以提高运动耐受力。所用的菜根汁是英国公司生产的,这个国家是没有市售。

首先,参加者服用任一个单次剂量甜菜汁或安慰剂后,研究人员测量了其有氧耐力和血压。

然后,研究人员对所有19名患者给予甜菜汁每天服用,平均时间为七天,再次测量耐力和血压。在研究中果汁剂量相当于2.4盎司的果汁中含有约6毫克的硝酸盐。

研究小组发现,与给药相比,每日给予甜菜汁一周后提高了24%的有氧耐力。有氧耐力是通过骑自行车来衡量的,固定的工作量低于其最大承受能力。

另一个发现是,在两个单一和每日剂量组中饮用果汁能够显著减少静息收缩压5〜10mmHg。无不良事件与任何干预有关。

“虽然大规模的试验需要进行,但这些初步研究结果表明,每日饮用甜菜汁,一周的时间可以改善患者的HFPEF,其对于改善日常活动和生活质量的影响的有氧耐力是一个潜在的治疗选择,”维克森林浸信会内科教授和该研究的资深作者,医学博士Dalane Kitzman说。
