Nature:新研究有望提高一种免疫细胞的抗癌能力

在癌症免疫疗法中,可利用杀手T细胞攻击癌变组织,但随着时间推移,它会陷入功能不全状态,研究人员称之为杀手T细胞“疲敝”。即便使用一些药物,也难以再次激活完全“疲敝”的杀手T细胞,这影响了癌症免疫疗法的效果。

庆应义塾大学研究人员和国际同行在动物实验中发现,一种名为Nr4a的基因与杀手T细胞的功能弱化有关,如果杀手T细胞中的这种基因缺损,就不会出现“疲敝”现象,而是长期保持活性。

实验显示,向患有癌症的实验鼠注射普通的杀手T细胞,无法阻止它们在90天后全部死于癌症;但如果向它们注射Nr4a基因缺损的杀手T细胞,90天后,这些实验鼠的生存率可达到70%以上。

研究人员认为,今后可探索研发针对Nr4a基因的抑制剂,也许可以成为治疗癌症的新方法。
