最近,有研究人员利用来自有放疗史的前列腺癌幸存者的尿液样本,调查了驱动辐射诱导膀胱炎癌症患者的分子变化。研究包括了 85份放疗前列腺癌患者的尿液样本和9名没有进行放疗前列腺癌患者的尿液样本。15名有放疗史的患者诊断为放射性膀胱炎。使用了Multiplex Luminex测量了47种不同蛋白质的水平。研究人员根据放射性膀胱炎诊断、症状评分或血尿,在非放疗和放疗样本之间以及放疗样本内进行了比较。研究发现,在有放疗史的前列腺癌幸存者中,接受放射性膀胱炎诊断的患者PAI 1、TIMP1、TIMP2、HGF和VEGF-A的水平均升高。这些蛋白在患有血尿或高症状评分的患者中也有所增加。除严重血尿和终末期放射性膀胱炎患者外,尿液中未检测到炎症蛋白。另外,通过相关蛋白水平的升高,可在尿液中检测到活动性纤维化和血管窘迫。只有在终末期放射膀胱炎疾病患者的尿液中才能检测到炎症。

最后,研究人员指出,纤维化和血管损伤促使了放射性膀胱炎的发展,并可能引起更有针对性治疗方法的开发。
