Stroke:血浆含硫氨基酸与脑血管疾病风险的关系

这些结果表明蛋氨酸更高的生物利用度可能在预防脑血管疾病中起作用,并解释了之前已知的同型半胱氨酸与卒中之间的关系。

维生素B补充剂可降低高半胱氨酸的循环浓度,并可能降低卒中发生率。同型半胱氨酸浓度与卒中的发生率有关,但在相关代谢途径中的其它含硫化合物与脑血管疾病之间的关联尚未进行研究。

研究人员进行了一项病例对照研究,其中包括480名脑血管疾病患者和480名年龄、性别和基线检查年份(1993-1997年) 相匹配的对照者。研究人员使用基线血浆样品,通过液相色谱-串联质谱法测定了含硫化合物水平,包括蛋氨酸、同型半胱氨酸、胱硫氨酸、半胱氨酸、谷胱甘肽和牛磺酸。研究人员评估了每种化合物浓度和蛋氨酸与同型半胱氨酸之比(代表一碳代谢活性)与脑血管疾病发生风险之间的关系,并针对潜在的混杂因素进行了调整。

血浆蛋氨酸和蛋氨酸/同型半胱氨酸比值与脑血管疾病的风险呈负相关,每增加1个SD的比值比分别为0.83(95%CI为0.72-0.96)和0.82(95%CI为0.71-0.95)。调整同型半胱氨酸后,蛋氨酸与脑血管疾病风险的关联仍然显著。其它评估的化合物均与脑血管疾病无关。

由此可见,这些结果表明蛋氨酸更高的生物利用度可能在预防脑血管疾病中起作用,并解释了之前已知的同型半胱氨酸与卒中之间的关系。需要进一步的研究来确定循环甲硫氨酸作为脑血管疾病预防靶标的原因和潜力。
