新冠肺炎仍在全球蔓延,科学家们正在探索导致大流行风险因素,包括季节变化、温度和湿度条件以及紫外线照射等等。今年5月份,国际照明委员会(CIE)发布了一项声明,为了应对COVID-19的传播,采用紫外线辐射,尤其是UV-C(波长100-280 nm)来可降低病毒的传播。近日,来自加州大学圣巴巴拉分校的研究人员发现,COVID-19的传播与紫外线辐射之间存在联系。该研究发表在PNAS杂志上。

研究人员收集了来自全球173个国家3235个地区组成的COVID-19确诊病例的空间解析数据集,并与当地环境条件相结合,开发了一种统计方法来量化来分析COVID-19的传播与环境条件(紫外线辐射,温度,湿度和降水)的因果效应,以衡量该疾病的传播速度。

结果发现,紫外线暴露会严重影响COVID-19的传播,对日增长率有着显著影响。紫外线暴露每增加1个标准差(大约等于洛杉矶5月和6月之间紫外线的差异)时,COVID-19病例的日增长率降低1个百分点,这样就意味着,COVID-19的增长率从流行初期的每日平均增长13%降至12%。

根据紫外线辐射的季节性变化,温带地区从1月到6月之间的增长率增加7.3个百分点。另外,随着较长时间的紫外线暴露时间增加,北部温带地区在同期下降7.4个百分点。然而,研究人员指出,与旅行禁令,学校停课或家庭隔离等社会隔离政策相比,紫外线对疾病传播的季节性影响较小。无论天气如何,似乎都需要采取社会隔离措施以大大减缓传播速度。

根据这些发现,夏季的北半球感染率似乎有所下降,这可能是由于紫外线暴露增加所致。这些发现与对冬天来临的美国目前正在经历的COVID-19感染激增相吻合。但是,要获得完整的季节性图,研究人员将需要更精确的估计值,即疾病对其他季节性变化的环境条件(比如温度和比湿)的反应。

尽管由于其他环境变量的不确定影响,大多数地区的COVID-19季节性具有不确定的标志,但研究人员还是发现了紫外线辐射紫外线或可不通过物理破坏病毒DNARNA结构的方式,减少新冠传染和降低死亡率

综上,紫外线照射对COVID-19的传播有着显著的影响,应该仔细考虑如何以季节性方式来应对COVID-19的大流行。
