JACC:“多吃红肉有害”原因揭晓!升高体内TMAO水平

基于美国护士健康研究的一项最新研究结果表明,血液中氧化三甲胺(TMAO)水平如果长期升高,冠心病风险显著增加。
 
TMAO是肠道微生物菌群的代谢产物,既往研究表明,当摄入红肉等动物性食物时,肠道菌群就会产生TMAO,而经常吃素食或以植物性食物为主的饮食时,肠道内TMAO的生成量就比较少。
 
在该研究中,在基线健康的女士中,不论最初血液中TMAO水平如何,如果10年期间TMAO水平升高,冠心病风险均明显增加。
 
血液中TMAO水平处于最高三分位者发生冠心病的风险较TMAO水平处于最低三分位者增加58%。
 
血液中TMAO水平每升高1个标准差,冠心病风险增加33%。
 
两次检测TAMO水平均处于最高三分位者发生冠心病的风险最高,比TMAO水平一直较低的女士增加79%。
 
研究者进一步发现,血液中TAMO水平变化与冠心病风险之间的关系受饮食质量影响:不健康的饮食模式会加强两者间的关系,而健康饮食模式则会削弱两者的关联度。
 
研究者指出,饮食是控制体内TMAO水平的一个重要的可控危险因素。
 
该研究说明,TMAO可作为心脏病的预测生物标志物,也是心脏病预防的潜在干预靶标,降低TMAO水平可能有助于降低冠心病风险,肠道微生物可能是探索心脏病预防方法的新领域。
 
护士健康研究一共纳入近12.2万名30~55岁、基线健康的女护士,十年期间,研究者从中找出380例冠心病患者,以及380名人口学相匹配的无冠心病女士作为对照。

在基线首次检测时,冠心病组和对照组的TMAO水平无明显差异。但10年后,冠心病组的TMAO水平明显升高。
