结果研究共纳入了八篇包括2992个植入物的文章。在两个研究之间，两个种植体表面的种植体周围炎的发生率各不相同。由于研究之间的异质性，荟萃分析不可行。在短期随访中，表面粗糙的植入物更有利于斑块的积聚。从长期来看，植入物表面翻转会导致更多的牙菌斑和较高的植入物周围骨质流失。植入物周围的临床参数和两个植入物表面的存活率相似。

综上所述，该研究结果表明，在本研究的范围内，与机械加工的种植体表面相比，粗糙的种植体表面似乎并未增加种植体周围炎的发生率。
