慢性炎症可能与癌症的发生发展有关。近日，Scientific reports杂志上发表了一篇研究文章，研究人员使用来自两项病例对照研究的前瞻性血液样本中收集的28种炎症相关蛋白进行分析，这些研究嵌套在欧洲癌症与营养前瞻性研究（n=261）和瑞典北部健康与疾病研究（n=402）。

研究人员检验了炎症评分与乳腺癌（BC）和β细胞非霍奇金淋巴瘤（B细胞NHL，包括68例多发性骨髓瘤病例）发病相关的假设，并使用广义线性模型模拟了这种炎症评分与所研究的两种癌症（BC和B细胞NHL）之间的关系，以及通过调整行为和生活方式因素的作用进行评估。通过汇集两个群体的癌症类型进行分析，并通过队列和诊断时间进行分层。

该研究结果表明与对照组相比，B细胞NHL患者的炎症评分较低（β=-1.28，p=0.012），BC患者（β=-0.96，p=0.33）的评分更低，主要由招募后不到6年时间内确诊的癌症病例所致。这些关联不受后续调整潜在中间混杂因素的影响，特别是行为。敏感性分析表明，该研究的结果不受炎症评分计算方式的影响。

这些观察结果需要进一步研究，以纳入更大的人群，更多种类的癌症类型以及更大量的炎症标记物进行重复测量。
