目前,多项研究已将红血球(RBC)数据中的判别式(DF)进行稳定化为简单,并使其成为一种耗时少且价格低廉的工具,从而可将β地中海贫血特征(β-TT)与缺铁性贫血(IDA)进行区分。本研究目的是在塔拉戈纳地中海地区引入新的公式并评估它们在将小细胞性贫血(MA)分化为β-TT还是IDA方面的价值。

研究总共收集了200例用MA进行的匿名血液学检测(100例诊断为β-TT,100例诊断为IDA)。新公式的临界值旨在区分IDA组中的β-TT,并将其诊断性能与其他已发表的指标进行比较。具体而言,MSI-I指数=(%Micro-R / MCV)* MCHC * Hb,MSI-II = Hb *(MCHC +%Micro-R)/ 10。此外,提出了新分数:MSI分数= MCHC + MSI-I + MSI-II,并在200名患者的横向研究中进行了评估。在该地区,MSI-II指数和MSI分数已显示出最佳的AUC和尤登指数(YI)(AUC = 0.956,YI = 81%; AUC = 0.971,YI = 87%),可以从中区分出β-TT IDA小组。

综上所述,因为新的MSI-score具有最高的AUC、最高的YI和最佳的正确识别患者百分比(93.5%),因此该方法可以作为该地区微细胞贫血普查项目的一个有效和可靠的工具。
