利用微生物组改善中风恢复,一项研究表明短链脂肪酸补充剂可改善小鼠的中风恢复



一组研究人员通过小鼠研究发现,补充人体的短链脂肪酸可以改善中风后的恢复情况。短链脂肪酸补充未来可能将成为中风康复疗法的一种非侵入性补充。

这一研究发现公布在根据Journal of Neuroscience杂志上。

肠道微生物组会影响大脑健康,包括大脑如何从中风中恢复。短链脂肪酸是肠道中细菌的发酵产物,是肠道健康的关键组成部分,但尚未探讨过其在中风恢复中的作用。

文章作者指出,在对小鼠诱发中风之前的四个星期内,向它们的饮用水中添加短链脂肪酸。结果与对照小鼠相比,喝了脂肪酸水的小鼠的中风恢复性更好,包括减少运动障碍和增加树突上的脊柱生长,这是至关重要的记忆结构。

另外,添加了脂肪酸的小鼠表达了更多与小胶质细胞有关的基因,小胶质细胞是大脑的免疫细胞。小胶质细胞活性可能负责增加树突棘和改善卒中结果。这种关系表明,短链脂肪酸可通过影响大脑对损伤的反应方式,充当肠脑连接的信使。
