冬眠的哺乳动物在面临食物匮乏时,会主动降低体温以减少能量消耗。这种诱导低代谢状态的能力引起了研究人员极大的兴趣,其也存在潜在的医疗效益。

冬眠的哺乳动物在面临食物匮乏时,会主动降低体温以减少能量消耗。这种诱导低代谢状态的能力引起了研究人员极大的兴趣,其也存在潜在的医疗效益。

在这里,研究人员发现,啮齿动物的下丘脑神经电路可以诱导一个持久的低温,低代谢状态,类似于冬眠。在这种状态下,虽然体温和耗氧量的水平保持很低,调节代谢的能力仍然被保持,和冬眠中十分相似。

此外,从这种状态恢复后,没有明显的组织和器官损伤或行为异常。

因此,该研究结果可以指导诱导类似冬眠的状态的方法学开发,这将在非冬眠的哺乳动物物种中存在潜在的应用,包括人类。
